Mr. Sami Farooq, CEO, Jamal Pipes share his thoughts with Engineering Post
Jamal Group of Industries is the leading producer of UVPC, HDPE Pipes & fittings, MS and GI Pipes, Light poles of all types (High Tension, Tubular, Round Conical and Octagonal), Guard Rails and W-Beams including state of the art galvanizing facility in Lahore, Pakistan. Jamal group of industries was founded by Mr. Haji Jamal Din who had been engaged in this business since the inception of Pakistan. He started working with the goal of establishing the local industry of Pakistan and after successful ventures, the Jamal Group of companies was founded in 1981.
To find out more about the workings of Jamal group of industries especially about Jamal PVC Pipe (Pvt.) Ltd, Engineering Post talked to Mr. Sami Farooq who is currently serving as the Chief Executive of Jamal PVC Pipe (Pvt.) Ltd. He is also a Member of Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry. During his exclusive interview with Engineering Post, he described some of the working of the company and their products being offered “We established Jamal PVC Pipe (Pvt) Limited in 2006 with an aim to be the largest manufacturer of UPVC and HDPE pipes in Pakistan to cater public, industrial, commercial, private and consumer segments. Currently Polymer section has a per month capacity of 1500 tons to meet the mass level projects in Pakistan,” he said.
The first hurdle any local manufacturing company has to face is the maintenance of quality. To ensure that all products are prepared according to the international standard Jamal PVC Pipe (Pvt.) Ltd is ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004, OHSAS 18001:2007 and PSQCA certified. “We manufacture our products and HDPE Pipes (20mm to 1200mm and UPVC 1/2” to 16”) according to the highest international standards and specifications,” added Mr. Sami Farooq.
Innovation and addition of new products are some of the most important factors which dictate the trajectory of the company. Jamal PVC pipe thoroughly understands the importance of modernization and improvement hence we are working consistently to enhance our inventory. “With the Divine’s gracious blessings we have been able to successfully enhance our range of HDPE Pipes up to 1200 mm PN 16.” said Mr. Sami Farooq.
