Taj Engineering has built a strong reputation as a leading manufacturer of switchgear and electrical panels for Pakistan’s HVAC in industrial sectors, hospitals & high-rise buildings. In an exclusive interview with Engineering Post, the company’s CEO, Mr. Abdul Aleem and Director Abdullah Aleem discussed how its close association with the HVAC industry, coupled with advanced control technologies, has emerged as one of its key differentiators.
A significant part of Taj Engineering’s market presence comes from its expertise in Form 3B panel manufacturing. The company states that it currently supplies close to 60 percent of the market for this particular type of panel. Known for their quality, reliability, and compliance with Consultant specifications meeting international standards, these panels are widely selected for major commercial and industrial developments.
“Our priority has always been engineering expertise rather than simply assembling products,” said Abdul Aleem, “Form 3B panels demand careful segregation and stringent safety considerations. Securing present market share was a gradual achievement, built through years of design improvement, quality management, and a detailed understanding of our clients’ operational needs.”
Taj Engineering’s portfolio extends beyond Form 3B panels, covering a broad range of electrical solutions designed for HVAC applications. These include VFD panels, soft starters, MCC panels, and various other essential control loops with equipment’s accessories. By offering these solutions under one roof, the company is able to support HVAC contractors and industrial customers while reducing compatibility concerns and enhancing overall system performance.
Abdullah Aleem explained that this integrated capability distinguishes the company from many other switchgear manufacturers. “Very few switchgear manufacturers have a genuine understanding of the HVAC industry,” he said. “Our advantage is that we can manufacture switchgear panels and incorporate HVAC requirements into those panels ourselves. This allows us to produce solutions that are electrically dependable while also being mechanically suited to HVAC operations.”
The company’s established position within the pharmaceutical sector is another indication of its technical expertise. Taj Engineering reports that around 60 percent of the panels installed across major pharmaceutical facilities are supplied by the company. In an industry where precision, reliability, and continuous operation are critical, this level of market confidence demonstrates sustained technical performance.
One of Taj Engineering’s prominent projects was the supply of all MCC panels for Emaar Towers. The project required dependable electrical infrastructure, intelligent monitoring, and effective coordination with building systems. Taj Engineering also integrated these panels with Building Management Systems (BMS), enabling centralized monitoring and control.
“We have integrated BMS systems with our MCC panels, giving clients the ability to monitor machinery and workflow in real time,” said Abdul Aleem. “This provides greater energy efficiency, supports predictive maintenance, and enables better operational decisions. It effectively transforms panels from passive components into intelligent assets.”
Abdullah Aleem added that such integration is particularly useful in HVAC-intensive environments, including hospitals, pharmaceutical facilities, and high-rise commercial buildings. “When electrical panels communicate directly with BMS, facility managers gain control rather than simply power distribution,” he said. “That is the direction in which HVAC-electrical integration is moving, and we are already there.”
With the HVAC industry increasingly moving toward intelligent and energy-efficient systems, Taj Engineering’s integrated manufacturing model gives it a distinctive edge.
