Supporting Economic Corridor ADB to hold consultation workshops

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is organizing a series of consultation workshops in the federal and provincial capitals to share the key findings to relevant stakeholders and to seek their valuable feedback, including to identify strategic policy interventions and regulatory framework required to maximize the potential benefits of Economic Corridors Development.

It may be noted that ADB has carried out a scoping study on the potential economic corridors in Pakistan, focusing on key aspects such as economics, institution and regulation, poverty and inclusivity, empirical data and diaspora role.

Findings from this study will contribute to the more comprehensive work under the proposed technical assistance on Supporting Economic Corridors Development in Pakistan that is key for achieving Pakistan’s growth aspiration of 7 percent per year and in the context of maximizing the benefits from CPEC.

The workshops will also introduce the proposed technical assistance, its detailed coverage and intended outputs that would all be anchored on rigorous research to facilitate evidence-based decision-making process to promote transparency, accountability and good governance.
