Both the gas utility companies i.e. Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL) and Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGCL) had added 332893 new consumers and 3540 kilometers long transmission and distribution pipeline against target of 7497 kilometers which reflected 47.21 per cent achievement during financial year 2020-21.
The shortfall was attributed to non-approval of expansion in transmission and distribution network by Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).
SNGPL is executing four development projects and SSGCL one project which were at various stages of their completion during the last financial year funded through Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) of the Federal Government.
SNGPL’s projects include Lahore City Augmentation, Rashakai Special Economic Zone, Bahawalpur System Augmentation and Chiniot to Pindi Bhattian whereas SDSGCL’s lone project is Dhabeji Special Economic Zone.
