Prime Minister Imran Khan inaugurated the grand “Ravi urban development project” in Lahore worth 5 trillion rupees. The project will help address issues pertaining to traffic congestion, water and environment pollution in Lahore City.
Punjab government plans to develop a modern city over an area of more than one 100,000 acres near Lahore. Under the project vertical buildings will be constructed in the new city in order to ensure that basic amenities reach every person. Millions of trees will also be planted in the city to protect the environment
While addressing the inauguration ceremony PM said “This is the second biggest planned city after Islamabad which will create job opportunities and wealth.”
The PM also asked the relevant departments to look into the acute shortages of clean water to the citizens of Lahore where the level of underground water has decreased by more than 800 ft.
