Railways retrieved 1007 acres of land from illegal occupants

Pakistan Railways have retrieved as many as 1007 acres of its land worth billions of rupees from illegal occupants and encroachers  during  its various anti-encroachment operations across the country.

Of  the land so far retrieved,  around 491 acres of land was retrieved in Punjab, 339 acres in Sindh,145 acres in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and only 32 acres in Balochistan province .

According to the figures available from Railways sources, largest area of 5180 acres was under illegal occupation in Sindh, about  3287 acre of Railways land was being encroached in Punjab, 832 acres in khyber Pakhtunkhwa  and 687 acres of railways land in Balochistan was in possession of illegal grabbers of various sorts.

On the whole, Pakistan Railways owned 167690 acres of land throughout the country out of which the largest number of 90326 acres were in Punjab, 39428 acres in Sindh, 28228 acres in Balochistan and 9708 acres in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
