Power Engineers Secures Strategic Partnership with ABB

Mr. Salik Mahmood, CEO, Power Engineers talks to Engineering Post

In a significant stride for Pakistan’s electrical engineering sector, Power Engineers, a leading manufacturer of switchgear systems, has finalized a channel partner agreement with global technology giant ABB. The deal, announced by CEO Salik Mahmood, marks a milestone for the company, which has rapidly ascended as a market leader since its inception in 2018.

During a recent exclusive interview with Engineering Post, Power Engineers CEO said “This partnership with ABB is the culmination of persistent efforts,” said Salik Mahmood, reflecting on the collaboration. “ABB sought a partner with strong market reach, credibility, and a proven track record. We demonstrated that Power Engineers not only meets but exceeds these benchmarks.” The CEO emphasized that over 80% of the company’s projects in the last two years utilized ABB products, a testament to their mutual trust. “ABB’s support has been exceptional their product reliability and technical assistance align perfectly with our commitment to minimizing client downtime,” he added.

Founded with a clear vision to dominate Pakistan’s fragmented electrical solutions market, Power Engineers identified gaps in quality, authenticity, and customer service. “Before 2018, clients often faced a trade-off: affordable prices meant compromised support, or vice versa. Worse, counterfeit products plagued the industry,” Salik Mehmood explained. “We vowed to be a one-stop solution offering authentic products, competitive pricing, and 24/7 support. When a customer chooses us, they never doubt the product’s genuineness.”

This ethos propelled the company to secure over 50% of national switchgear projects in the last couple of years. Their portfolio now spans low and medium voltage switchgears, dry-type transformers, Busway System, and emerging solar power solutions. “Expansion is the key,” noted Salik Mehmood. “We’ve added 13 specialized engineers, each a leader in their domain, to drive innovation and maintain our technical edge in the company.”

Despite fierce competition, Power Engineers thrives on customer loyalty. “When clients evaluate authenticity and reliability, we naturally rise to the top,” he explained. “Our project portfolio speaks for itself.” The company has delivered high-profile installations, including the Bahria Grand Mosque, Paragon Towers, Lucky One Towers, and the complete low-voltage system for Lucky Textiles, Nabi Qasim Pharma etc. “Each project reinforces our reputation. For instance, the Grand Monarch and Hoshang Pearl developments were turning points.

Looking ahead, Salik Mehmood underscored sustainability and diversification. “As Pakistan shifts toward renewables, Power Engineers aim to be at the forefront.” Yet, core values remain unchanged: “Our mission is to deliver persistent excellence, ensure zero downtime, and build trust.”

As the interview concluded, Mehmood’s confidence echoed Power Engineers’ trajectory: “The market is crowded, but when you combine authenticity, expertise, and relentless support, customers don’t just choose you they stay with you.” With ambitious expansions and strategic alliances, the company is poised to illuminate Pakistan’s engineering landscape for years to come.
