Prime Minister Imran Khan has inaugurated 2,056 flats constructed for industrial workers at an estimated cost of Rs5.93 billion at Regi Lalma (Shahi Bala) under the Naya Pakistan Housing Programe.
Secretary Labour Department Muhammad Akbar Khan, Secretary Workers Welfare Board Dr. Bilal and other officials were also present on the occasion. The prime minister was informed that the price of each flat was Rs2.6 million, out of which a Rs300,000 subsidy would be provided by the government and the remaining amount would be paid by the beneficiaries through easy instalments.
For the apartment complex four large tube wells and overhead tanks have been constructed in the Labour Complex. Besides, electricity and gas have also been provided. People working in industries for three years would be eligible for these flats.
