Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the concerned authorities to complete the Rawal Chowk Flyover by September 2022.
While expressing concern, Shehbaz said that work on the project could not be completed on proper time and said that the project should be completed by 1st September 2022. The prime minister said that mega projects can be completed in two years and he was being told that such a small project was to be completed in two years. The prime minister directed that the project would be investigated by a third party to ascertain reasons behind its delay as the project was initiated in October 2020 with duration of 24 months.
The CDA Chairman Amer Ali Ahmed told the Prime Minister that the contractor of the project would be changed and assured him that on his directives, the pace of work would be expedited. During the meeting the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also directed to further widening of Park Road and the addition of one lane each on both sides. The prime minister said that he would visit the project site to review the pace of work every Saturday.
The PML-N leaders Ahsan Iqbal, Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Muhammad Hanif Abbasi, and others were also present on the occasion.
