Engineering Post Report
Petroleum Division of the Federal Government is continuing implementation of its five ongoing projects in a phased manner during the current financial year.
It has been allocated Rs 960.05 million under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2022-23 for this purpose.
The projects include Expansion and Up-gradation of Pakistan Petroleum Corehouse for it Sustainable Operations to Facilitate Oil and Gas Exploration Research in Pakistan, Strengthening, Upgradation and ISO Certification of of Karachi Laboratory Complex at HDIP Operation Office, Karachi and three Supply of Gas projects to Special Economic Zones (SEZs).
Expansion and Upgradation of Pakistan Petroleum Corehouse for its sustainable operations to facilitate oil and gas exploration research in Pakistan is estimated to cost Rs 819.102 million and it has been allocated Rs 303.71 million against throw-forward of Rs 791.083 million.
Strengthening and Upgradation of Karachi Laboratoris Complex at HDIP Operations Office Karachi is estimated to cost Rs 440.812 million. It has been allocated Rs 224.809 million against throw-forward of Rs Rs 228.917 million..
Project for Supply of 10 MMcfd gas / LNG at doorstep (zero point) of Bostan Special Economic Zones Balochitan is estimated to cost Rs 731.447 million. It has been allocated Rs 100.000 million under current PSDP against throw forward of Rs 602.406 million.
Project for Supply of 13 MMcfd gas/RLNG at zero point of Bin Qasim Industrial Park SEZ Sindh is to cost Rs 149.419 million. It has been allocated Rs 74.705 million for ensuring its completion during the ongoing financial year.
Project for Supply of 40 MMcfd gas/RLNG at zero point of Allama Iqbal Industrial City SEZ Faisalabad is estimated to cost Rs 785.000 million. It has also been allocated Rs 258.735 million for its completion during financial year 2022-23.
First two gas supply projects to SEZs are being implemented by Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) and the last one by Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL).
Petroleum Division on the whole is executing just 09 ongoing projects at a total estimated cost of Rs 3861.138 million, has so far spent Rs 1334..973 million and provided Rs 1480.509 million under PSDP for their continued implementation during the current financial year.
The Petroleum Division, it may also be mentioned here, has no plans to launch any new scheme during the current financial year.
