Pakistan Japan Business Forum held its third signature event in end November. Dr. Miftah Ismail, Minister of State / Special assistant to the Prime Minister / Chairman – BOI, addressed the gathering on “investment opportunities in Pakistan” which was followed by an interactive session led by a panel of Zafar Ali Khan and Ehsan Malik.
Dr. Miftah Ismail spelt out the opportunities being created in all spheres of economic activity including the ones manifesting because of CPEC and its snow balling effect. He gave examples of the recent investment overtures by European and Turkish companies in automotive, consumer goods and infrastructure.
Some suggestions were made to the minister to improve the performance and efficacy of the government as involving industry in evolving a consensus on economic agenda, hiring of foreign specialist in troubled sectors etc.
The event was well attended by dignitaries and business persons.
