Pakistan and Denmark to foster cooperation in the renewable energy sector

Pakistan and Denmark have reached an agreement to foster cooperation in the renewable energy sector, as outlined in the recently ratified Green Framework Engagement Agreement. This accord was established during the two-day visit of Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Hina Rabbani Khar, to Denmark and Finland from June 8th to June 10th, 2023. The Foreign Office released a statement confirming these developments. The Minister of State engaged in discussions with government officials, think tanks, and local media during her visits.

In Denmark, she held a meeting with Dan Jørgensen, the Minister for Development Cooperation and Global Climate Policy, and they concurred on the need for collaboration in the renewable energy sector, aligned with the Green Framework Engagement Agreement. The statement expressed optimism that the Danish Minister's forthcoming visit to Pakistan from June 16th to June 18th, 2023, would facilitate progress in this area. Minister Khar extended a warm welcome and assured Minister Jørgensen of the government's full cooperation. Furthermore, in a meeting with Prehn Rasmus, a member of the Danish Parliament, the Minister of State emphasized the significance of parliamentary engagement in strengthening bilateral relations.
