10th edition of International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS)-2018 was held in Karachi from 27th to 30th November. The first two days were reserved for delegations, trade visitors and for networking activities. The other highlights included an international seminar on emerging global and regional environment and the role of grey hybrid warfare therein from Pakistan’s perspective. The Karachi Show was planned for the people of the city at Nishan-i-Pakistan, Seaview. The fourth day of the exhibition was reserved for the general public.
President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi was present at the opening of the defense expo. Some 262 delegates from 50 countries and over 70,000 visitors, suppliers, exhibitors, etc attended the event this year as compared to 58000 visitors in the last exhibition. The main reason for this overwhelming response is that the country’s defense industry and professional capabilities are at par with other defense equipment producing countries.
Countries such as China, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Jordan, Poland, Russia, South Korea, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Ukraine, USA and Pakistan all set up pavilions for representing their countries.
