Over 25bn dollars invested in Pakistan through CPEC, says Chinese ambassador

During the launching ceremony of (APCEA) sustainable development report 2021, the Chinese ambassador to Pakistan gave a speech and stated that China has invested a total of 25 billion dollars as investments for the CPEC projects, helping to generate 75000 jobs, producing 5500 kw of electricity and constructing over 500km of roads and highways. Approximately 100 participants attended the ceremony including chairman of senate Sadiq Sanjrani and chairman APCEA Yang Jiandou.

A total of five speeches were made in the ceremony where the all the speakers appreciated the step towards the launch of the report and the role that APCEA and PCI has been playing for the promotion and documenting of the report. Speakers also appreciated the amount of work done by the Chinese government through CPEC projects and the mutual benefits being received by both the parties in this regard.

In his speech, ambassador Rong said that china and Pakistan have been able to continue their friendly democratic relations despite going through a challenging road during the wake of the global pandemic. Both the countries celebrated their friendship last year as it marked the 70th anniversary of the democratic and business relations of Pakistan. He said that both sides have been able to grow together and support each other through all the tough times.

Chairman Senate, Sadiq Sanjarani said that this report will prove beneficial as people will learn about the projects regarding CPEC and the opportunities created by Chinese enterprises in Pakistan. He also shed a light on the fact that this project will prove to be a key step in establishing and connecting the whole region in terms of business and trade. The phase two of the project will only be based on industrialization in the country.  

Special assistant to Prime Minister Imran Khan on CPEC, Khalid Mansoor also addressed the participants and stated that Chinese enterprises have been making a huge difference for the business and trade community in the country. He also said that the CPEC authority has been working very hard to achieve their goals and remove any problems and hurdles that may decelerate the working of the project.

Chaiman APCEA Yang Jiandou said that the Chinese enterprises worked to improve the living standards of the people, and eco-friendly development was implemented. The work does not only stay limited to the construction of motorways and power projects. He said that the Chinese enterprises have always focused on the development and connectivity of the Chinese investors with the local businesses.
