To certify connectivity, trade and employment opportunities for rural and urban areas, Prime Minister Imran Khan has given brief instructions to timely issue the funds for NHA projects. As the roads play a vital role in economic development, the projects of road construction are the supreme key to boost countries financial status at multiple domains. NHA is subjected to complete 27 projects during this fiscal year. Apart from this, more than 3,000 km long roads are being constructed in Balochistan province. While chairing a meeting to review the progress of on-going projects under NHA, the details about the former projects were also presented. PM has instructed to maintain the standard of road construction as it reduces the cost of vehicle maintenance and import of petroleum products. As per the prime minister’s vision of self-reliance, the past projects were completed through public-private partnerships instead of loans including highways from Rawalpindi to Kharian, Mianwali to Muzaffargarh and Hyderabad to Sukkur. The meeting was joined by Federal Minister for Communications Murad Saeed, Minister for Planning Asad Umar, Special Assistant Dr Shahbaz Gill, Deputy Chairman Planning Commission Jahanzeb Khan, and the Chairman NHA and senior officials. While presenting a contemporary relevance Federal Minister for Communications Murad Syed briefed about the completed road-cluster: a total of 1,753 km of roads have been completed in the three years.
