NHA receiving more than Rs 22191 million foreign assistance for 13 projects

National Highway Authority (NHA)  is in the process of receiving  foreign assistance of Rs22191.528 million for its 13 ongoing development projects during current  financial year 2021-22.

NHA was estimated to be receiving Rs 14100.000 from its international development partners during financial  year 2020-21. However, according to the revised estimates NHA had received substantially higher assistance of Rs 26694 .950 million .

According to the information available from official sources,  Asian Development Bank is providing Rs 10550.000 million,  China Rs 2500.000 million. Japan Rs 700.00 million, Korea  Rs 850.000 million, IDA  Rs 7541.528 million and Saudi Arabia Rs 50.000. More than one foreign assistance sources provide financial resources simultaneously for one or more development projects which are listed in the Public Sector Development  Programme (PSDP) of  the Federal Government.

Projects being implemented with the cooperation of international development partners  by  the NHA in a phased manner include Dera Ghazi Khan-Dera Ismail Khan (N-55) 245 km CARREC Corridor; CARREC –DIP project,; Construction additional Carriage Way   Shakarpur-Rajanpur section N-55;Post-Flood  Rehabilitation of National Highways due to unprecedented  rains and flash floods 2010 (revised);  Construction of Faisalabad-Khanewal (M-4) 184 km; Construction of Rajanpur-Dera Ghazi Khan  as a four lane highway; Dualization of Yarik-Mughalkot-Zhob section of N-50 ( 210 km)  CPEC Western Alignment including  Zhob Bypass and Land Acquisition; Havelian to Thakot  Karakoram Highway Phase-11; Multan –Sukkur Section (387 km) ; East West Road —Rakhi-Gaj-Bewata; Cionstruction of Malakand Tunnel on N-45; Improvement  and  widening of Chakdara Chitral Section N-45 (141 km); Khyber  Pass Economic Corridor,and ; Construction  of Highway  from Athmuqam   to Taobutt  including two tunnels in Neelum Valley.
