Interesting facts regarding Pakistan’s major imports

Pakistan’s major imports are listed as 16 other than many other minor items.
Major imports include Electrical goods, Machinery (non-electrical), Iron, steel and manufactures thereof, on-ferrous metals, Transport Equipment , Chemicals, Drugs and medicines, Paper, board and stationary , Tea, Sugar Refined, Art silk yarn, Petroleum and products, Edible oils and Grains, pulses and flour.
Import of Iron, steel and manufactures thereof was worth Rs 135363 million in 2010-11 which rose to Rs 226939 million in 2014-15 and to Rs 293432 million according to provisional figures for 2018-19.
Electrical goods worth Rs 67851 million were imported in 2010-11 which increased to Rs 122183 million in 2014-15 and further to Rs 173470 million as per provisional figures for 2018-19.
Machinery (non-electrical) worth Rs 387463 million was imported in 2010-11, Rs 633733 million in 2014-15 and Rs 723880 million provisionally in 2018-19.
And, Transport equipment’s worth Rs 184075 million were imported in 2010-11, Rs 263522 million and Rs 256535 million in 2019-19, according to the provisional figures available to Engineering Post from official sources.
Petroleum and products topped the list of major imports with figures of Rs 1033493 million in 2010-11, Rs 1195025 million in 2014-15 and Rs 1054035 million as per provisional figures for 2018-19.
Pakistan’s total imports in 2010-11 stood at Rs 3455287 million, Rs 4644152 million in 2014-15 and provisionally at Rs 5371142 million in 2018-19.
