The International Conference on Sustainability in Process Industry 2022 was held at Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute (GIKI) of science and technology in collaboration with the University of Engineering and Technology Peshawar. CEO Engro chemicals Jahangir Paracha attended the conference as a chief guest and gave a detailed speech about the requirements for strengthening of industrial sector with respect to the academia in order to improve the economic condition of the country.
Jahangir Piracha focused on highlighting the significance of industrial strength and stated that the government is responsible for the quality and value of the products that are being marketed in the country. He said “There is a dire need to create better opportunities and environment for the industry and academic communication while focusing on recycling,”
Dallas-Fort worth Metroplex, USA, Tauseef Salma said that the developing nations are required to keep an eye and take appropriate steps to adapt to and decrease the effects caused by hazardous climate changes, mainly global warming. She said that the recent flood conditions are an example and considerable plans need to be made. Dr Najma Memon, National Sector of excellence in analytical chemistry from university of Sindh also stated that the global energy crisis are mainly caused due to irresponsible energy consumption and population explosion. Energy is the basic requirement of the public and the problems need to be properly dealt with.
Prof Dr Iftkhar Hussain, Vice Chancellor of UET Peshawar was pleased with the organization of this ceremony and highlighted the significance of the work being done together to fix the crisis of energy. “Industry makes 20 percent contribution to Pakistan’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and the majority of the industry lacks financial strength and sustainability. If the government desires that they contribute to the country’s economy their needs should be fulfilled,” he said
