Engineering Post in conversation with Mr. Aslam Virani, GM Supply chain at IMS

Recently Engineering Post had the opportunity to have a detailed conversation with Aslam Virani who is working as the GM Supply Chain at Haq Holdings group. Aslam Virani has been working in the supply chain department for 15 years now.” I started my career in this field and have been fortunate enough to gain extensive experience and knowledge at IMS Electric throughout the years,” he said
IMS has acquired some of the most state of the art engineering manufacturing facilities in Pakistan. Firstly they acquired the manufacturing facility of their principle Schneider Electric in Pakistan. While commenting on the acquisition Mr Aslam Virani said “The acquisition of Schneider Electric has opened up a lot of new business opportunities for IMS. We are now able to expand our product range and offer our customers a wider variety of engineering solutions,”
Pakistan is currently facing import bans from banks which includes many items essential for manufacturing are also not allowed into the country. When asked how IMS Electric is handling the situation Mr Aslam Virani explained “Yes, the import bans have created some new challenges for us. However, we are keeping ourselves updated and have briefed our international suppliers to ensure that we can procure the long-lead type items on time and deliver our products to our clients on time despite the crisis.,” he said.
Despite a lot of competition in the market IMS Electric has always managed to stay in top even in the tough situation. One of the reasons for this success is the aftersales services being provided by the company. During the conversation Mr Aslam Virani explained that the company has a dedicated Facilities management department whose sole purpose is to ensure best aftersales service. “During manufacturing our Quality Assurance department makes sure that the product is manufactured without a problem with zero tolerance for ambiguities. After the warranty period is over all the problems are handled by the Facilities management department who have a representative as well as required stock in hand which can be arranged in case the need arises,” he said. These measures make sure that the client is getting the best product and service for their money. At the end of the exclusive conversation with Engineering Post we asked Mr. Aslam Virani where he sees IMS electric in the next five years. “Our goal for the next five years is to become the top engineering company in Pakistan. We are working on localization, expanding our product range, and ensuring that we maintain the highest standards of quality and customer service. Our sales team is also working hard to ensure that we facilitate our customers and provide them with the best possible solutions,” he said.
