The Institution of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Pakistan (IEEEP) has played a pivotal role in advancing Pakistan’s engineering landscape through knowledge sharing, professional development and industry collaboration. Over the past fifteen years, the IEEEP Fair has evolved into the country’s premier platform dedicated exclusively to the electrical and electronics engineering sector. As preparations enter their final phase for the 15th edition of the exhibition, Engineering Post spoke with Engr. Muhammad Navid Akram Ansari, Chairman, IEEEP Karachi Centre, about this year’s highlights, new initiatives and IEEEP’s long-term vision for strengthening Pakistan’s engineering and manufacturing capabilities.
Speaking about the upcoming exhibition, Engr. Muhammad Navid Akram Ansari said the 15th edition of IEEEP Fair 2026 represents fifteen years of uninterrupted success and continued growth. Scheduled to be held from 18 to 20 August 2026 at the Karachi Expo Centre, the exhibition will feature cutting-edge technologies covering power generation, transmission and distribution, renewable energy, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), solar power, UPS solutions, industrial automation, EV charging infrastructure, instrumentation and several other engineering innovations.
“Our objective is to bring together industry, academia, policymakers and engineering professionals on one platform to accelerate Pakistan’s technological progress,” he said. He added that alongside the exhibition, visitors will benefit from technical seminars and product presentations designed to promote learning, networking and business development.
Highlighting the new features introduced this year, Engr. Muhammad Navid Akram Ansari explained that IEEEP has further strengthened its technical seminar programme to enable exhibitors to present their latest technologies directly to engineers, consultants and industrial decision-makers. One of the most significant additions to this year’s event is the Made in Pakistan Excellence Award, which, Insha’Allah, will recognise the finest indigenously designed and manufactured engineering product displayed at the exhibition.
“We have also enhanced visitor engagement, business networking and media outreach to provide exhibitors with greater visibility and stronger commercial opportunities,” he remarked, adding that these initiatives are intended to generate meaningful business connections while encouraging innovation within Pakistan’s engineering sector.
Discussing preparations to maximise visitor participation, Engr. Muhammad Navid Akram Ansari said IEEEP has launched a comprehensive nationwide outreach campaign involving industries, utilities, engineering organisations, consultants, universities, professional bodies and government institutions.
“We are encouraging engineers, entrepreneurs, researchers, students and young professionals from across Pakistan to participate. The combination of a comprehensive technology exhibition with technical seminars and panel discussions makes IEEEP Fair an unmatched platform for learning, networking and exploring new business opportunities,” he said. He expressed confidence that this year’s edition will attract one of the largest and most diverse visitor audiences in the history of the Fair.
The Chairman emphasised that the themes of “Made in Pakistan” and “Make in Pakistan” remain central to IEEEP’s mission. According to him, promoting indigenous engineering and manufacturing continues to be one of the organisation’s highest priorities.
“The Made in Pakistan Excellence Award is a major step towards recognising engineering products conceived, designed and manufactured in Pakistan,” he stated. He added that dedicated seminars focusing on localisation, import substitution, export promotion, advanced manufacturing and emerging technologies will further support the country’s industrial development and enhance Pakistan’s competitiveness in international markets.
