On June 30th, 2022, a technical activity was organized by IEEE PES Chapter Karachi at Sunset Club, Karachi. This was the 2nd technical activity of the year. A versatile event was arranged where more than 30 participants and industry leaders got together and engaged with each other as IEEE is committed to serve Engineering Professional to evaluate their technical knowledge and create building blocks of an enduring and diverse professional network.
The topic of one-day seminar was “Importance of Asset Management in Power Sector”. With the Recitation of Holy Quran, the seminar started. Mr. Ishtiaq ul Haq gave Thank You note to seminar. IEEE PES is regularly conducting its activities intending to disseminate technical, relevant, and advanced knowledge on products and matters concerned with the engineering community.
Mr. Rizwan Ansari conducted the Seminar who has over three decades of experience of working in Multinational companies in Pakistan and abroad and currently he is serving in the K-Electric as Head of Network Engineering. Mr. Ansari has diversified experience in planning, manufacturing, Plant Maintenance, Materials Management, Quality Assurance & Engineering Design, specifications and standard development. Mr. Ansari made tremendous effort to cover the concept of Asset management in the most concise manner and share with audience latest practice and concept of Asset management staring from Reactive to Preventive to Predictive maintenance. There student groups from various universities attended the seminar and took keen interest in the topic, there were participants from utility companies, Academia and Industry.
Some of the important questions addressed in the presentation were: How we can raise awareness about asset management? How should we decide to replace asset or continue? What parameters should we consider while purchasing an asset? How do we efficiently implement predictive maintenance? Engr. Tahir Salim past Chairman PES also shared his valuable thoughts and experiences to enlightened the participants.
Later Chairman PES , Engr. Ishtiaqul Haque thanked Mr. Rizwan Ansari for his time & effort, He encourage students and young professional to join IEEE & PES society to get to maximum benefit of enormous knowledge available on the platform.
