IEEE PES Chapter Karachi has been very active in arranging technical seminars in the last two months of 2019. The 9th activity of this year was the one-day Case study seminar on “FAULT DIAGNOSIS USING RCA” Speaker of the seminar was “Engr. Syed Asim Rashid”. The session was based on case study activty.
The activity was conducted with a case-based session to create a learning opportunity regarding Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for fault diagnosis. Participants keenly participated in this event and there was overwhelming response. Participants were provided with a case (situation) along with necessary data. They were also provided with a tool, fishbone diagram to diagnose the fault. The session lasted for more than 60 minutes, and was attended by a very large number of Professionals from Industry.
The 10th activity of the year was a one-day session of panel discussion by the topic “IEEE ELECTRICAL SAFETY REQUIREMENTS IN UTILITY DISTRIBUTION” the panelist of the session were “Mr. Navid Ansari, Mr. Shahid Ahmed, Mr. Farhan Wazir, Mr Zia Zuberi, Mr. Salman Qureshi and Mr. Tahir Saleem”
The session was based on recent issues of electrical power supply safety. Technical awareness and compliance of standard were discussed. IEEE PES also offered support for model safety areas among the systems.
Participants keenly participated in this event and there was overwhelming response. At the end of the session, an IEEE Membership Development presentation was given to encourage industry Fellow to be part of the IEEE organization and vote of thanks by chief guest “DR Tariq Soomro” & Certificates were distributed among the Panelist. The session lasted for more than 60 minutes.
