The energy sector of Pakistan has invited the US firms to explore investment opportunities in the energy sector, particularly refining which is in need of overhaul with growing demand.
In this regard US Pakistan Business Council hosted a virtual event titled, “Explore Pakistan: A US-Pakistan Business Council (USPBC) Virtual Series on Business Opportunities in Pakistan’s Energy Sector,” event was chaired by Steven Kobos,chairman US Pakistan Business Council.
Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Petroleum Nadeem Babar said “The petroleum division, ministry of energy will soon offer blocks for offshore exploration as well. Physical works on a new trunk pipeline over 1,100 km capable of 1.6bcfd (billion cubic feet per day) transmission from the north to south of the country will begin in the 1Q of CY 2021. Underground gas storage facilities, onshore gas terminals are being actively pursued by all stakeholders and US companies should seek these opportunities.”
The Minister for Energy, Omar Ayub Khan, and SAPM Nadeem Babar had been invited by the USPBC to brief US business community regarding the efforts and initiatives of the government.
