Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information & Broadcasting and China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Authority Chairman Lt Gen Asim Saleem Bajwa (r) has said in a tweet that the construction of the Mansehra-Takhot section of the Hazara motorway has been completed and it will be opened for traffic soon.
The Mansehra-Thakot section is part of the Hazara Motorway, which is a 180-kilometre controlled-access motorway linking the Burhan Interchange near Hasan Abdal with Haripur, Havelian, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Shinkiari, Battagram, and Thakot in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The Burhan-Mansehra section was already open for traffic.
The project is a part of the northern alignment of CPEC known as KKH Phase II. The Chinese company entrusted with construction of the road employed as many as 8,000 locals during the construction of the project, which accounted for 81.6 percent of the total employment.
