Provincial Energy Development Organization (PEDO) of Khyber Pakhtunkha has signed an MoU with Korea Hydro and Nuclear Power Company (KHNPC) for the construction of 496MW Spatgah Power Project in District Kohistan. The MoU has been ratified by the government. The Spatgah Power Project will incur a cost of US $1 Billion and would be run under private public partnership. Among 20 percent shares of power project, 26 percent would be of KP government while the remaining shares would be of KHNPC.
Speaking on the occasion Provincial Minister for Information, Shaukat Yousafzai said “256 among 356 micro hydro power projects initiated by KP government have been completed and would be handed over to local communities after operationalization.”
