FWO Celebrates 57th Raising Day

Frontier Works Organization (FWO) has celebrated its 57th Rising Day recently highlighting  its achievements over the years.

FWO began its historic journey way back on October 31, 1966 with the construction of  Karakoram Highway (KKH), the one and only link between Pakistan and China. KKH.  According to FWO sources, KKH has at times been attributed as the 8th Wonder of the World because of its phenomenal  altitude that bypasses  the mountain  ranges of  heights above  4000  meters. During its  57 years, FWO  has progressed  by leaps and bounds  hence coming to be  regarded as one of the largest  civil engineering firms of Pakistan contributing immensely  to the national building.

Landmark projects which FWO  has undertaken and accomplished during last about six decades and still going strong included besides KKH, Makran Coastal Highway, Juglot-Skardu Road,Gwadar-Turbat-Hoshab Road,  Swat Highway Tunnels, Mohmand Agency  Nohigi Tuunnel, Gomal  Zam Dam,Lahore-Sialkot Motorway, Darbar   Sahib Kartarpur, 132 KV Transmission Line Panjgur,.

FWO has listed a number of its ongoing projects also  which include Diamir-Basha Dam Gilgit Baltistan,Karam Tongi Dam North Waziristan district  Khyber Pakhtunkhwa , Joggran Hydropower  Project Azad Jammu and Kashmir,  Islamabad Expressway Project; Sialkot Kharian Motorway; Gujranwala -Lahore Dual Carriageway; Lahore Ring Road Southern Loop; Rawalpindi Ring Road; among others. FWO has listed  Green Pakistan Initiative, Tunneling, Mining,  Tourism, corporate Social Responsibility as some of its new ventures.

List of FWO  achievements and national  contributions quite obviously continues to increase  every year and its expertise keeps growing   in almost  every  spectrum of civil engineering works. Wish FWO still greater achievements in the coming years as a great growing engineering works organization.
