Engineering Post Report
Frontier Works Organization (FWO) has celebrated its 57th Rising Day recently highlighting its achievements over the years.
FWO began its historic journey way back on October 31, 1966 with the construction of Karakoram Highway (KKH), the one and only link between Pakistan and China. KKH. According to FWO sources, KKH has at times been attributed as the 8th Wonder of the World because of its phenomenal altitude that bypasses the mountain ranges of heights above 4000 meters. During its 57 years, FWO has progressed by leaps and bounds hence coming to be regarded as one of the largest civil engineering firms of Pakistan contributing immensely to the national building.
Landmark projects which FWO has undertaken and accomplished during last about six decades and still going strong included besides KKH, Makran Coastal Highway, Juglot-Skardu Road,Gwadar-Turbat-Hoshab Road, Swat Highway Tunnels, Mohmand Agency Nohigi Tuunnel, Gomal Zam Dam,Lahore-Sialkot Motorway, Darbar Sahib Kartarpur, 132 KV Transmission Line Panjgur,.
