Board of Investment, secretariat for the apex SEZs has acquainted SEZ status for Allama Iqbal Industrial City (AIIC), with endorsement on sale of plots in three different SEZs including the AIIC, Hub, and Bostan. The SEZ boards shall have tasks to administer and enforce SEZ benefits and rules. Atif R Bukhari, Minister of State/Chairman Board of Investment has expressed his satisfaction over the progress on the SEZs’ expansion with his words; it was extraordinary time for all of us to blow the opportunities being provided by the Belt and Road Initiative in the shape of Industrial Cooperation under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. Faisalabad Industrial Estate Development and Management Company (FIEDMC) encloses the total area of 2,800 acres by aiming to establish industries in textile, engineering, chemical paints, agriculture and food processing. The private sector should come forward and take the foremost role in this second phase of the CPEC. With high anticipation that the zone will help to create 249,477 direct and indirect jobs for local population, it will be appealing for domestic and foreign investment up to the tune of Rs357 billion.
