The NED International Alumni network organized the NEDIAN International Alumni Convention in the last week of December 2019. Alumni and their families from all over the world participated in the colourful event to relive the memories associated with the alma mater.
On the first day of the event approximately, 300 participants were taken to Bahria town Karachi on NED university shuttle points. On arrival a guided bus tour was arranged on sight viewing buses, in which participants visited main attractions of Bahria town like Danzoo, Amusement park, under construction Mosque. After tour, a welcome reception was arranged by Engr. Aftab Siddiqui on his farm house for the participant, which was followed by mehfil-e gazal program and dinner.
On following evening, a welcome dinner was organized at the old campus of the NED University to facilitate the NED alumni who have completed their graduation from the old campus. More than 500 graduates, having graduated as early as 1960’s attended the function.. Among many NED Alumni, Chief Minister Sindh, Murad Ali shah also attended the function. During the dinner, souvenirs were also presented to foreign NED alumni, who especially came to Pakistan to attend this function..
A special seminar was arranged at the main auditorium of the NED University to discuss the problems faced by the engineering community in Pakistan. The Japanese’s High Commissioner was among the dignitaries who were part of the panel. The Vice Chancellor NEDUET Prof. Dr. Sarosh H. Lodi thanks the participants for attending the seminar and also emphasized the role the alumni can play in the development of the alma matter. At the end of the seminar, the alumni visited their respective departments to relive their past experiences and memories.
Following the speeches and tributes, dinner was served, in which participants not only enjoyed their food but also had a chance to meet and greet. After dinner, live performance by Atif Aslam was kicked off which lasted for two hours.
