Mr. Shahzad Hassan Qadri, Managing Director, Enpower Engineering shares his thoughts
Enpower Engineering Company (ECC) is known for providing world class products and best after sales service to its customers. Mr. Shahzad Hassan Qadri, Managing Director, Enpower Engineering Company informed this during a detailed discussion with Engineering Post on the current economic situations and business potential.
Mr. Qadri joined CMC group in 1995 and successfully expanded company operations. The group started humbly as small retail business in Lahore mainly dealing in agriculture purpose diesel engines. They pursued the generators business in 1998 and gradually became the market leaders for machinery and power products. Enpower Engineering Company, established in 2006, was pioneers when they started assembling generators in Pakistan in 2009. At the moment the company is also manufacturing steel based components used in the generators.
Mr. Shahzad is a patriotic Pakistani and wishes to locally manufacture most of the parts and components for his products to boost the “Made in Pakistan” concept. He expressed his wish to provide employment to maximum number of people.
Enpower is the first company which was appointed to be the OEM for Perkins in Pakistan. Now a days, Enpower Engineering Company is the Authorized manufacturer of Diesel Generator using Genuine Perkins and Baudouin engines. It’s official OEM Packager, reseller & warrantor of Hyundai, Baudouin & Perkins Generator in Pakistan.

By the grace of ALLAH, EEC has gained a respectable share in the market within short span of time. It has its presence in all the major cities through a network of offices and dealers. And once again, this proved to be a best decision when it comes to results as Hyundai has started picking up a respectable market share in the early years.
Mr. Shahzad clearly mentioned that assembling in Pakistan can save around 30% to the national exchequer with more and more employment generation for the local work force.
Replying to a question he informed that China is far ahead in generators assembling but the wages are very high there. We can take the benefit of the low wages in Pakistan and can enjoy a remarkable share for assembling generators here. And if we focus on the quality, we can easily export generators from Pakistan. He informed that Enpower is already working on these lines and trying to get approvals from Hyundai to export worldwide. “We have already got a lead from Saudi Arabia for the export of diesel generators”.
Mr. Shahzad is popular for his ever improving approach. Answering a question that where he wants to see his company in the next 5 years he replied “ We are trying to create more jobs and a greater assembly line for maximum production and more consumer products for the local industry. We aim to promote Made in Pakistan products for our country”.
He urged the young entrepreneurs to come up with ideas strengthening Made in Pakistan concept as we are in Textile and sports goods industry.
