The Gwadar Smart Port City Master Plan was approved at the appropriate time during last financial year 2019-20.The building codes and regulation have also already been finalized and approved. The City development activities are gradually started during current financial year.
Furthermore, the Eastbay Expressway project which connects Gwadar Port with Makran Coastal highway for heavy traffic and aid the development activities in Free Zone Phase-II, is also scheduled to be completed during current financial year.
The Gwadar Free Zone is a significant initiative for industrial development and transshipment businesses in the city. With the completion of the Eastbay Expressway project, phase-II of the Free Zone will be connected to the port and will pave the for further development.
Five projects which are being initiated in a phased manner during current financial year include Safe City Project in Gwadar, Pasni Fish Harbour project, Gwadar smart environment sanitation system and landfill project for Gwadar, Construction of floating jetty at Gwada and SMGD Desalination Plant.
All these development activities are being undertaken under the great game changer China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) umbrella which has now entered second phased of its implementation.
