Chairman respectively of the Constructors Association of Pakistan (CAP) for the year 2020-2021.
Members of the Association also elected unopposed Naeem Akhtar Chaudhary as Vice Chairman (Punjab), Muhammad Adnan Waheed as Vice Chairman (Sindh), Muhammad Farooq as Vice Chairman (Baluchistan) and Saifullah Zia as Vice Chairman (Islamabad).
Others who were elected unopposed as members of the executive committee are Engr. M. S. Asad Mukhtar, Chaudhary Ahmad Habib, Faisal Mahmood, Engr. Mian Sultan Mahmood and Muhammad Hanif Gohar from corporate class. While Rauf Ahmad, Malik Muhammad Kaleem Ullah were elected unopposed as executive committee members in associate class.
Results of the elections were announced at the Annual General Meeting of the Constructors Association of Pakistan at local hotel.
Engr. Syed Ashfaq Hussain, Chairman Elect, CAP thanked members and executive committee of CAP for electing him as Chairman. Syed Ashfaq Hussain stated that he will try his best to fulfill the responsibilities given to him with dedication and honesty. He also stated that basic issues are related to PEC Licence, implementation of PEC Standard Bidding Documents, Non Payment of Contractor’s certified bills and Sales Tax on Construction Services are required to be attended and efforts shall be made to address such core issues. Syed Ashfaq Hussain further stated that he will take along with him his team and all members and that he will go to everywhere, where CAP members and his team will require to go. Syed Ashfaq Hussain, stated that he will try to bring all the contractors under one umbrella and that it will be the umbrella of CAP. He also stated that “Unity is Strength” and it provides continuity as well.
He appealed to the meeting to provide guidance to the elected body and extend all types of help so that the Construction Industry in Pakistan reaches its height. He said that I, assure you that when we get united on one plate-form, the problems will be solved automatically and any department or officer cannot give trouble. He said that to achieve the goals, active and material support from the members is essential to enhance the capacity for the delivery of the results expeditiously. He also emphasized to maintain the discipline and unity by the members, which is vital to meet the prevailing challenges in order to save the local Construction Industry of Pakistan and to save the future of the economy of Pakistan. Syed Ashfaq Hussain acknowledges and places on record its appreciation for the outgoing Chairman, Mr. Muhammad Asadullah Khan, Senior Vice Chairman, all Vice Chairmen and Members Executive Committee of Constructors Association of Pakistan (CAP).

Meanwhile the outgoing, Chairman Muhammad Asadullah Khan welcomed the new team and hoped that it would work with full force to resolve the issues being faced by the contractor’s community and construction industry.
