Chinese Company to establish Dry Battery Manufacturing Facility in Allama Iqbal Industrial City

A Chinese company Dongin Group to establish a dry battery manufacturing facility through an investment  of $ 15 million in Allama Iqbal Industrial City near Faisalabad for catering  to increasing demand owing to electricity vehicles and solar energy systems.

An agreement for the upcoming Chinese investment by Dongjin Group  has since been signed with  the Punjab Board  of Investment and Trade.

Dongjin Group’s  factory, on being established in due course of time,  was expected to  support Electric Vehicles (EVs) and Solar Battery demand under Pakistan’s Battery Manufacturing Policy 2026-31. The Chinese company has been given  10  years of  Income Tax holiday and also one time exemption from the payment  of customs duties.

Official sources concerned have expressed the hope that the project on being established and going into production was  expected to lead to  industrial and economic activity, while also supporting  technology transfer in the country and the manufacturing facility  would also be benefitting  related industries such as  electronics, automotive components, packaging, chemicals and Engineering support  services  besides creating good number of employment  opportunities for Faisalabad and adjoining areas residents.

Furthermore, the stakeholders in the automobile and solar  sectors have opined that the establishment  of an  advanced  battery manufacturing  facility by the Chinese company  will be helpful in meeting  increasing  domestic demand  for  batteries used in renewable energy and electric vehicles systems in Pakistan.
