Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui has announced that China has offered to establish an Artificial Intelligence (AI) hub in Pakistan and also invited the country to join the World Education Alliance, reflecting the growing depth of bilateral cooperation in education and technology.
Addressing a news conference after returning from the World Digital Education Conference 2026 held in Beijing, the minister said Pakistan’s participation in the global forum opened new avenues for collaboration in digital education, technological innovation and skills development.
Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said the Chinese proposal for an AI hub would help Pakistan strengthen its technological infrastructure and equip students and professionals with modern digital skills required in the rapidly evolving global economy. He added that the invitation to join the World Education Alliance would provide Pakistan access to international educational partnerships, research opportunities and advanced learning platforms.
The minister observed that Pakistan-China relations were entering a new phase marked by cooperation in emerging technologies and education sectors. He noted that the global geopolitical and economic landscape was gradually shifting towards Asia, creating new opportunities for regional collaboration and development.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to promoting digital education reforms and enhancing international cooperation in science and technology.
