A prominent Chinese automobile manufacturing company, Chery, has initiated a local manufacturing project for their vehicles here in Pakistan. The company had launched it’s new RHD strategy earlier in 2019 in which, seven countries were focused for the installation of local manufacture units. The countries were decided on the basis of marketing potential and business possibilities available.
The company representatives revealed that they will continue to focus on marketing in Pakistan as the business market is extremely fruitful and rewarding. Export is also under consideration from Pakistan to the other RHD countries. SUV manufacture will be the most targeted product as it is the most suitable for traffic and road conditions of the country.
“Echoing Pakistan’s EV policy, Chery has also developed a new energy vehicles plan, including EV, PHEV, FCVE, REEV for RHD markets” said that country director Pakistan Felix Hu during an interview. He also underlined that the company will introduce newer models in Pakistan that have not been introduced in China yet.
Automobile cooperation under the second phase of CPEC has been termed a win-win choice by the company. According to Felix Hu, the acceptance rate for Chinese products and brands in Pakistan has recently been increasing at an exponential rate. The company is extremely hopeful for the progress of China Pakistan automobile collaboration.
