CEMCON Group Continues Building Excellence across Pakistan’s Engineering Landscape

Engr. Adil Askari discusses CEMCON Group’s journey, engineering capabilities, industry challenges, and future growth plans

Since its establishment in 1979, CEMCON Group has steadily grown into one of Pakistan’s recognized names in the construction and engineering sectors. From its beginnings in construction, the company has expanded its operations into engineering solutions, representing internationally renowned brands while serving clients across industrial, commercial, educational, and infrastructure sectors. In an exclusive conversation with Engineering Post, Engr. Adil Askari, CEO,  shared the journey of CEMCON, its commitment to quality, and its vision for the future.

When asked about the company’s journey, Adil said that CEMCON initially focused on construction projects and gradually earned the confidence of leading real estate developers and prestigious institutions including Bahria University, Karachi University, IBA, LUMS, and Rohri University. He added that the company’s consistent emphasis on integrity, quality, and performance enabled it to expand into the engineering sector, introducing globally renowned brands such as Innomotics, Grundfos, Perkins, CEMCO Pumps, and several other internationally recognized engineering products.

Replying to a question regarding the company’s products and services, Adil Askari explained that CEMCON supplies imported motors, pumps, engines, generators, and automation solutions, while also providing technical support, maintenance services, and customized engineering solutions for industrial and construction projects. He noted that the company’s commitment to quality has earned it recognition as an Innomotics Advanced Partner.

When asked what distinguishes CEMCON from its competitors, Adil Askari said that integrity, quality, and performance remain the company’s core strengths. Despite challenges such as inflation, low productivity, poor working conditions, and increasing regulatory pressures, they stated that CEMCON continues to develop innovative engineering solutions that contribute towards a safer, more productive, and sustainable engineering and construction sector.

Responding to a question about the industries it serves, Adil explained that CEMCON operates through CEMCON Associates, which undertakes civil, electrical, and mechanical construction projects, and CEMCON Engineering Services, which serves as a channel management company, distributor, and stockist for several multinational engineering brands. This diversified structure, he said, enables the company to cater to a broad spectrum of engineering and infrastructure projects throughout Pakistan.

Sharing his views on Pakistan’s engineering sector, Adil Askari observed that inconsistent government policies, inflation, regulatory challenges, and the country’s business environment continue to affect investment and industrial growth. However, they emphasized that CEMCON remains committed to innovation by offering energy-efficient motors, pumps, and generator solutions while continuously adopting modern technologies, project management practices, and technical training.

Speaking about the company’s future plans, Adil explained that CEMCON aims to become one of Pakistan’s leading engineering and infrastructure solution providers while expanding into international markets. He revealed plans to strengthen the company’s portfolio in energy management and power solutions, invest in advanced technologies, develop local manufacturing capabilities, and build stronger partnerships with global technology leaders.

In his concluding message to the engineering community, Adil Askari reaffirmed that CEMCON’s primary objective is to ensure clients achieve their project goals with the highest standards of quality, reliability, and assurance while maintaining cost-effectiveness. He added that the company remains committed to innovation, customer satisfaction, and supporting the long-term growth of Pakistan’s engineering and construction sectors.
