The official document of Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Hub, Balochistan, has disclosed about the creation of 90,000 jobs in 211 industrial units; 15000 jobs created directly while 75000 as indirectly. Central Development Working Party (CDWP) has approved the project and has agreed with the government’s strategy to provide constructive environment for industrial sector to produce internationally competitive products. Establishment of SEZ in Hub will lift industrialization in the area that will eventually lead towards growth of exports befitting to the socio-economic development. As rapid industrialization is a key to economic growth and the project is a dynamic initiation to provide basic facilities for industrial sector to enjoy instant benefits in Hub under China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The reason to develop this project in hub is to compensate the GDP which is lower than 13 percent. Overall, 211 industrial plots will be developed on 406 acres of land along with development of warehousing plots, fuel dispensing station, weighbridge, mosques, wastewater treatment plant, car parking, etc. The approval cost of project is Rs2.287 billion while the government will contribute Rs2 billion funding for it.
