Canadian company interested in investing $800 Million in Pakistan

SkyPower Canada has shown interest in making investment in Pakistan worth
$800 Million. The company founded in 2003 in Toronto, Canada, holds over 18
years of experience as an independent power producer, focusing on developing,
financing, constructing, and operating large-scale renewable power projects
worldwide. With 30+ solar PV Parks established, it’s predominantly owned by
CIM, a notable urban real estate and infrastructure fund manager.
Kerry E Adler, President and CEO, referenced Pakistan’s caretaker Prime
Minister’s speech at the 78 th General Assembly, highlighting SkyPower’s Green
Giant Initiative. This initiative involves an $800 million investment to create a
groundbreaking 1000 MW solar project in Pakistan. Crafted following UNECE’s
PPP guidelines and aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals, the initiative
aims to showcase the transformative potential of partnerships in boosting
economic growth and combating climate change.
SkyPower’s impressive track record of 35+ utility-scale renewable projects

Pakistan’s government has set an ambitious target, aiming to increase renewable
energy’s share from 41% to 61% in the energy mix from 2023 to 2031, reflecting a
