Ministry of Petroleum has announced that the boards of directors (BoDs) of five public sector companies have been restructured. These companies include Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL), Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGCL), Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL), Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL), and Pakistan Mineral Development Company (PMDC).
For the first time in the country’s corporate history, women have been delegated on these BODs. Under new laws, every board will ensure that one woman representative each will be in all BODs constituted in future. The BOD of PSO has already been reconstituted earlier. In the first three months of this government, the boards of directors of six companies have been reconstituted. The selection process for these positions will be based on merit. Advertisements for top slots in oil and gas companies would be made soon, he added.
