43559 new companies registered by SECP in FY2025-26

Large number of 43559 new companies were registered by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) during just ended FY 2025-26.

According to information available from SECP, on the whole the total number of companies registered had risen to 301615 in the country with the highest-ever monthly registration of 4323 new companies in June 2026. On Year-on-Year (YoY) basis, new companies registered during 2025-26 were 24 percent higher from the previous fiscal year.

Registration of public sector companies also had increased by 25% during FY 2025-26.

Province-wise, highest number of 22364 new companies were registered in Punjab, followed by Sindh with 6691 and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with 3820 and Balochistan registered 759 new companies during the period under report here.

Gilgit-Balstistan recorded the highest regional growth with 1585 companies registered during the year, showing a 65% increase.

The trading sector accounted for the largest share of launching of new companies making up 41 % of all SECP newly-registered companies.

Foreign investment participation had also increased with 1014 companies by foreign investors during FY 2025-26. These companies had a combined paid-up capital of Rs 2.5 billion.

As per SECP information, foreign investors were most active in the trading, mining and information technology (IT) sectors.

Investors from China registered the highest number of companies among the foreign investors.

Companies were also incorporated by investors from the United States of America (USA), United Kingdom (UK), Germany, Canada and Spain.
