The 40th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Institution of Electrical & Electronics Engineers Pakistan (IEEEP) was held at Lahore in first week of December at a local hotel. Engr. Tauseef H. Farooqi, Chairman NEPRA attended the event as Chief Guest while Engr. Saleem Arif former General Manager NTDC/WAPDA graced the event as a Guest of Honour.
The welcome address was given by President IEEEP Prof. Dr. Sohail Aftab Qureshi who thanked all the attendants for becoming a part of the event and highlighted the aims and objectives of IEEEP.
Engr. Tauseef H. Farooqi Chairman NEPRA also addressed the attendants and appreciated the efforts of IEEEP in dissemination of knowledge and helping make the new generation of engineers more knowledgeable.
The event was attended by a large number of engineers from different fields of private, public as well as corporate sector. Many people joined the meeting virtually as well. IEEEP Karachi Centre Chairman Engr. Khalid Pervez along with Office Bearers, Honorary Secretary Munis Siddiqui, Honorary Finance Secretary Muhammad Riaz Chaudhry, and Honorary Joint Secretary Imran Zafar specially travelled from Karachi to participate in the event.
Hony. Secretary General IEEEP Engr. Salim Usman presented the annual report to the participants which showed IEEEP contributed significantly for the dissemination of technical knowledge in form of Symposium, workshops, Seminar, conferences, and lectures. A publication of research Journal “New Horizons” is also part of the same effort. Such activities have educated professional engineers with latest trends in modern technology. He extended special thanks to all participants’ stakeholders and sponsors for wholehearted patronage.
In the AGM matter relating to Budget, balance sheet, and other administrative issues were also discussed in detail and approved where required. Formal approval of IEEEP Constitution and By Laws was approved unanimously by committee members. House appreciated efforts of the IEEEP and future plans of Central Council and Local Council
After the AGM a seminar was conducted on “Competitive trading Bilateral contract Market” while discussing scopes roles and future challenges.
