37th Student Seminar by IEEEP at PNEC NUST Karachi

The 37th annual Student seminar was organised by the Institution of Electrical & Electronics Engineers Pakistan (IEEEP) on 24th February 2022. The session was held “in-person” after a very long time due to the restrictions imposed because of COVID-19 in previous years.

Dr. B. S. Chaudhary graced the occasion as the Chief Guest for the inaugural session. While addressing the participants at the occasion he appreciated the students participating in the event and highlighted the importance of innovation for true progress. He appreciated IEEEP and NUST for their efforts in organising this annual student seminar and urged the students to take maximums advantage of this opportunity and utilise it for their professional grooming and growth.

After the speech and group photo technical sessions were started which were being judged by different teams. Each session had a total of 7 groups who were given a window of 20 minutes each to present their innovative approach about dealing with problems.

At technical session 1 Session Chair was Engr. M. Asif Sidiqui, Session Secretary was Engr. Hashim Raza and Judges were Engr. Shahid Ahmad, Dr. Bilal Khan and Dr. Tahir Malik.

For Technical session 2 Session Chair was Dr. Arshad Aziz while Session Secretary was Engr. Sajid Mehmood. Judges were Engr. Irfan Sheikh, Dr. Asim Khawaja and Dr Zeeshan Ahmad.

For Technical session 3 Session Chair was Capt. Dr. Sajjad Haider Zaidi, Session Secretary was Engr. Muhammad Usman and the Judges were Engr Irfan Ahmad, Lt. Cmdr. Dr. Fayyaz, Dr. Syed Bizzat Hussain Zaidi.

The participants of all three sessions came up with truly remarkable ideas which were presented and judged according to their merits and demerits during the technical sessions.

After the technical sessions were over, the Commanding Officer (CO) gave the closing address for the participants. He appreciated the time and effort put in by all the students in coming up with such innovative ideas and encouraged students to keep working on them even if they do not win at this competition. He also praised IEEEP and its officials involved in the process for organising such an event in the country which provides a platform for students to truly display their abilities and potential.

Souvenirs were distributed among the participants and winners. The CO also presented souvenirs to Chairman IEEEP and Chief guest of the ceremony.
