The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has registered as many as 2409 new companies in January 2023 , setting a record of erolling 174 firms in a single day. The total number of registered companies now stands at 185173.
According to the information available from SECP sources, the total paid up capital of the newly incorporated companies for January 2023 was Rs 2.7 billion and about 57 per cent of these films were registered as private limited, 39 per cent as single member , 3 per cent as unlisted public companies, not for profit associations, trade organizations and limited liability partnership (1.1 percent).
with 497 companies, the real estate development and construction sector leads all other industries followed by 334 in information technology, , trading 321, services 250, tourism 99, food and beverages 97, education 86, e-commerce 77, corporate agricultural farming 73, pharmaceutical 51, textile 49, marketing and advertising 47, engineering 44, healthcare 41, mining and quarrying 40, chemical 39 and transport 35.
