Asim Saleem Bajwa in a tweet has said that the under-construction mega airport at Gwadar
will be a harbinger of development of Gwadar city and Gwadar Port.
While sharing some pictures of the project he said “Gwadar International Airport
construction in progress. We reaffirm our commitment to launching and completing all
projects in Gwadar in line with PM’s directive,” he added.
The $230 million Gwadar airport project is located at Gurandani, 26 KM east of Gwadar City,
Balochistan. The ground-breaking of the project was performed by PM Imran Khan in 2019.
The Gwadar airport will be able to handle a combination of aircrafts including ATR 72,
Airbus, (A-300), Boeing (B-737) and Boeing (B-747) for domestic as well international routes.
In addition to that a modern terminal building is also a part of the project with cargo
terminal having initial handling capacity of 30,000 tons per year.
