ASHRAE Pakistan and Pakistan HVACR Society celebrated world refrigeration day on 26th June. A well-organized event was held at a local hotel at Lahore which was participated by leading professionals, consultants, clients, contractors, technicians and HVACR Society members in a large number. The event was a beautiful bouquet of knowledge as some very informative and thought provoking presentations were also a part. The chief guest of the event was Mr. Hammad Shamimi, joint secretary, Ministry of Climate change. Engr. Nisar Mohyud Din professionally conducted the event. Mr. Azim Ashraf welcomed the guests and appreciated the efforts of organizers for the best arrangements and participants who showed up in a large number on a very short notice. He termed the presence of huge number of audience as a great success of the PHVACR Society. Key note address was delivered by Mr. Ziaul Islam NPM-NOU, Ministry of Climate change. President Ashrae CPC Mr. Fahim Shahbaz highlighted the activities and performance of ASHRAE Pakistan Chapter. Mr Fahim ur Rehman, Vice President LCCI was the guest of honor. Mr. Noor Afzal, chairman Karachi chapter of PHVACR Society and Mr. Abbas Sajid ex-President Pakistan HVACR Society also showed up at the event. At the end of the first session, Mr. Sajjad Haider, Chairman Lahore chapter of HVACR Society delivered the vote of thanks and showed his firm commitment for Lahore chapter to continue their efforts for spreading knowledge to the masses. Mr. Mahmood from Faisalabad Chapter attended the event with his huge team from Faisalabad.
Mr. Mosul Ali, National Ozone Expert delivered an eye opening speech on “New Refrigerants in RAC Sector”. Mr. Mohammad Amjad, Director Operations, PCCDC delivered a detailed presentation on Cold Chain- Life line of sustainability, food security and application of refrigerants in this field.
Engr. Nisar Mohyud Din delivered an in depth presentation on application of refrigerants for thermal insulation of buildings. His presentation was highly lauded by the participants.
A panel discussion with question answer session was also part of the event which was keenly participated by the audience.
Participants while talking to Engineering Post highly lauded the efforts of PHVACR society and the ASHRAE Pakistan Chapter for arranging such a knowledge spreading event. They requested the organizers to arrange such events in future as well.
