The National Coordination Committee with Prime Minister Imran Khan in chair has decided to reopen work on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects.
Following the decision to reopen work on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects, the construction industry has been reopened from April 3 along with the massive relief package announced by the government.
The government’s economic team has also completed consultation on the relief package and an advisory has been issued to the provinces for the transportation of labour related to industry in this regard.
With life at a standstill in the cities the reopening of work on CPEC projects might be a good idea as many of the projects are located in remote areas away from general population. It is still unclear how all the logistics of related industries will work under the strict lockdown.
