Westinghouse forging Partnerships and building trust to drive success in Pakistan

An exclusive conversation with Engr. Amir Raza, Country Head Westinghouse

Amir Raza, the Country Head of Westinghouse Pakistan, stands as a testament to what decades of experience, vision, and unwavering determination can achieve in a competitive industry. With over three decades of experience in sales and business management, Amir Raza has carved a remarkable career in the electrical and energy solutions sector. Beginning his professional journey with AEG, he went on to hold leadership roles at some of the world’s most renowned companies, including Alstom, AREVA, Schneider, GE, ABB, and Jenbacher, before taking the reins at Westinghouse.

A graduate of NED University with an MBA from the prestigious Institute of Business Administration (IBA) in 1999, Amir Raza combines technical expertise with sharp business acumen. His strategic thinking and ability to navigate complex challenges have positioned Westinghouse for long-term success in Pakistan. Recently Engineering Post had the opportunity to have an exclusive discussion with Amir Raza country head Westinghouse regarding his journey at the company some common challenges and his vision for the company’s future.

“When I joined Westinghouse, I knew that building strong partnerships would be the foundation of our success in Pakistan,” Amir Raza reflects. “Westinghouse’s global business model relies on cultivating trusted partners who deliver our products to the end customer. But in Pakistan, we faced a challenge that there were no reliable partners who could push our product line effectively.”

Faced with this challenge, Amir Raza made it his priority to develop a robust partnership network. His efforts bore fruit when Westinghouse successfully partnered with Industilink Pvt Ltd., which now serves as the company’s master distributor in Pakistan. Industilink has not only taken on the responsibility of distributing Westinghouse products but is also creating a nationwide network of distributors. Additionally, the company is launching retail outlets where Westinghouse’s low-voltage products will be directly available to the public.

“This partnership with Industilink has been a game-changer,” says Amir Raza “They’re not just a distributor they’re our bridge to customers across Pakistan. By opening retail outlets and building a strong network, Industilink is helping us bring genuine Westinghouse products to even the most remote areas.”

With the foundation of strong partnerships in place, Westinghouse has been able to expand its presence beyond major urban centers. The company is now moving into interior Sindh and Punjab, areas with increasing industrial activity and growing demand for high-quality electrical solutions “Reaching underserved regions is part of our vision for inclusivity,” Amir Raza explained. “We want every customer, no matter where they are, to have access to reliable and affordable Westinghouse products. This expansion is critical for fulfilling that vision.”

Beyond product distribution, Westinghouse places a strong emphasis on customer support and after-sales service. Amir Raza as a country head understands that providing high-quality products is only one part of the equation, ensuring customers have the technical support they need is equally important. “Our after-sales service is a cornerstone of our success,” he notes. “We’ve built an ecosystem where customers can approach our panel builders for support. If an issue can’t be resolved at that level, Industilink steps in with its technical expertise. Whether it’s a repair, a warranty claim, or a product replacement, we’re committed to delivering prompt and effective solutions.”

This customer centric approach has strengthened Westinghouse’s reputation in Pakistan, making it a trusted name in the industry. “Our customers know that when they choose Westinghouse, they’re choosing reliability not just in our products, but in the support we provide,” Amir Raza added.

Despite the economic challenges Pakistan has faced in recent years, Amir Raza and Westinghouse remain optimistic about the future. With interest rates showing signs of decline, he anticipates increased investment in the industrial sector, which will drive demand for electrical products and solutions. “We’ve been preparing for this economic upturn since last year,” Amir Raza revealed. “We’ve approached major organizations like WAPDA and other utility companies to secure approvals for our products. As the economy improves, we’re expecting significant growth opportunities in the market.”

Looking ahead, Amir Raza has a clear vision for Westinghouse’s future in Pakistan. Over the next five years, he aims to make Westinghouse the market leader in electrical solutions by focusing on quality, affordability, and customer trust. “Our goal is to become the preferred brand for customers,” he said. “Westinghouse has a very comprehensive product portfolio, and instead of adding new products, we’re focusing on promoting those that haven’t been our priority until now like our low-voltage products. These products are now a key part of our strategy, and we’re confident they’ll drive our growth in the coming years.”

One of the most critical aspects of Westinghouse’s strategy under Amir’s leadership is its commitment to combating counterfeit products. The prevalence of fake or substandard electrical products in the market poses a significant challenge for both customers and genuine manufacturers. “We’ve taken a zero-tolerance approach to counterfeits,” Amir Raza asserts. “It’s not just about protecting our brand it’s about protecting our customers. We’ve implemented strict monitoring to ensure that every product bearing the Westinghouse name is genuine. This commitment to authenticity is one of the reasons we’ve earned the trust of our customers.”

Westinghouse’s edge in the market lies in its ability to deliver high-quality, genuine products backed by comprehensive support. The company’s strong partnerships, customer-focused approach, and visionary leadership have positioned it as a reliable provider of electrical solutions in Pakistan.

“Our strength comes from the values we stand for quality, reliability, and trust,” Amir Raza emphasized. “We’re not just selling products; we’re building relationships with our customers and partners. That’s what sets us apart.”

As Westinghouse continues to expand its footprint across Pakistan, Amir Raza remains focused on driving innovation, strengthening partnerships, and delivering value to customers. His leadership has been instrumental in transforming Westinghouse into a trusted name in the industry, and his vision promises a bright future for the company. “Leading Westinghouse in Pakistan has been a rewarding journey,” Amir Raza reflects. “It’s not just about achieving business success it’s about making a meaningful impact on the industry and the communities we serve. I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished, but I’m even more excited about what lies ahead,” he said. With Amir Raza at the helm, Westinghouse is well on its way to becoming a market leader in Pakistan. Through strategic initiatives, customer-focused solutions, and a commitment to excellence, the company is poised to play a pivotal role in the country’s industrial and economic growth. “Our vision is clear,” Amir Raza Country head Westinghouse concluded. “We want Westinghouse to be the first name that comes to mind when customers think of quality and reliability. And we’re committed to making that vision a reality.”
