Unveiling our Latest Product Line: Clean Rooms!

By Mushfiq Rahman, Director, Pakistan Insulation (Pvt) Ltd

In this article, I want to introduce Pakistan Insulations (Private) Limited’s newest product line: clean rooms. For those who do not know, a clean room is an engineered space, specifically one that has a very low concentration of particles in the air, ranging from pollutants, microbes as well as aerosolized particles in order to provide the cleanest environment for the production of goods that require extremely clean environments to produce. There are different levels of cleanrooms, ranging from ISO 9 all the way to ISO 1,with ISO 9 being the least “clean” clean room, while ISO 1 is the “cleanest” clean room. As the ISO level decreases, and the cleanliness of the clean room increases, more protective garments are required of the workers in that environment, as well as structure protocols.

The types of goods that are produced using cleanrooms include electronics, such as the phone or laptop you may be using right now, along with pharmaceutical chemicals as well as medical devices. As such, clean rooms are used by a variety of industries, including but not limited to the automotive industry, agriculture, battery manufacturing, pharmaceutical industries as well as electronics along with many other industries.

Pakistan Insulations (Private) Limited has started to manufacture clean rooms, as part of a way to make a value-added product from our Rockwool products. We are doing this by producing clean room panels with an infill of Rockwool for insulation purposes. The main benefit of rockwool, particularly in the pharmaceutical industry is that it is fire resistant, and a lot of the chemicals used in this industry are very flammable, which makes Rockwool the best option for any company in the pharmaceutical industry. Rockwool is also anti-microbial as compared to Insulation made from organic materials, such as polyethylene, polyurethane etc. This means it is better at keeping the clean room “clean”, as it prevents the growth of microbes inside the panels themselves.

Clean Rooms are being used in Pakistan right now. As a matter of fact, we have made and are making clean rooms for a variety of companies including some medical schools and Kyoto Medical. However, most of the time these clean rooms were imported from outside Pakistan. The current economic conditions means it is very difficult to import clean room systems now, and even when you are able to, the prices have increased quite a bit as compared to before. This means that for many industries, it is no longer viable to import clean room systems. But, those industries need not fear. We produce clean rooms according to international standards and can provide those clean rooms at a much cheaper cost, less time and significantly more customizability than would be available abroad.

I hope that after reading this article, if you are in the market for a clean room, you will give Pakistan Insulations (Private) Limited a call for your clean room needs.
