Two important national policies are in the process of formulation by the official quarters concerned of the federal government presently in Islamabad.
According to the information available, developing a National industrial Policy and formulation of the consistent allied policies and regulations are regarded as the key for spurring the performance of the industrial sector in the country and instilling investors confidence
Under the directions of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), the Ministry of Industries and Production has kick started the formation of the National Industrial Policy. As such the work on the formulation of the policy was in progress by the official quarters concerned.
Furthermore, after the expiry of the first National Tariff Policy, National Tariff
Commission was in process of drafting the 2nd National Tariff Policy 2025-30 in order to simplify the tariff on the principle of cascading : which will help gradually reduce the tariffs on raw materials, intermediate and capital goods, for reducing the difference in the rates of tariff for commercial importers and industrial users of raw materials, intermediate and capital goods.
