Treet Battery Limited (TBL), one of Pakistan’s leading battery manufacturers, has announced a strategic diversification into the lithium-ion battery segment through a partnership with China’s Highstar Digital Energy Technology (Guangdong) Company Ltd. The development was disclosed in a filing to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX).
Under the agreement, TBL will import and distribute Highstar’s lithium-ion batteries in Pakistan, expanding its portfolio beyond traditional lead-acid products. The move is aimed at capturing opportunities in renewable energy, electric mobility, and sustainable power storage solutions.
TBL management described the initiative as a “strategic step” to align with global energy transitions while broadening the company’s revenue streams. Lithium-ion batteries, they noted, are rapidly gaining importance in solar power systems, electric vehicles, and backup energy storage, making the technology central to the future of Pakistan’s energy and transport landscape.
Highstar Digital Energy Technology, an internationally recognized producer of advanced energy storage solutions, supplies lithium-ion products widely used in residential, industrial, and mobility sectors. The partnership provides TBL with access to high-growth markets while strengthening its competitive edge at home.
Industry experts say the move highlights a growing trend among Pakistani manufacturers to adapt to global shifts toward clean energy and electrification. With Pakistan’s rising demand for energy storage and electric transport solutions, TBL’s entry into lithium-ion technology is expected to not only reinforce investor confidence but also contribute to the country’s long-term sustainability goals.
